These were
inspired by my Mountain Man days, and my love of Southwest
motifs. They are meant to be smaller versions of my
current southwestern pieces.
All feature Arizona and Chinese Turquoise plus Antique
Trade Beads and my Sterling Silver work. Most include
Spiny Oyster shell beads, and Lapis Lazuli as well as
green Jasper.
The red beads are called Whitehearts as they have a
transparent red glass exterior ovet a white interior
(heart.) They were made in Venice, Italy in the 1800s to
early 1900s to trade with indiginous people all over the
World. Likewise the green stroped glass beads are also
from Venice in the same time frame and are 4 layered glass
in a pattern called a Chevron bead... a masterwork of
glass beadery, here in miniature.
These are 20 inches in length and strung on 19 strand
beadalon nylon coated stainless wire with a sterling
silver "S" clasp.
