Computer Assisted Design (CAD) and Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sometimes we create custom jewelry with the aid of a computer. Here's some illustrations to explain the process:

 

First we work with you to develop a design idea which is shown in a hand drawing.

 

Usually this is done through a series of drawings, and revisions, until we've captured what you really want.

 

During this part, you're right there with us while we refine and define the design.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then we use a bit of computer wizardry to create a three dimensional file, and photorealistic renderings of the piece for you to see. We can email this to you, or you can come in to the store to see it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After any changes at this step, a wax model will be computer carved, which again you will get to see, confirming in a three dimensional format that everything's correct.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After that we cast, polish, fabricate, hand engrave, and set stones to finish the piece, and viola!
